ED BY ELLEN DEGENERES
In addition to being simultaneously hilarious and adored, Ellen is design savvy. When we met she was eager to apply that sensibility to her first line of products — a wide range of apparel and home goods — and I was tasked with creating the identity. Stacking the letter’s “ED” forced them apart and into a more graphic configuration. The Didot typeface gave the brand automatic elegance and refinement, and was the right juxtaposition to Ellen’s playful and warm sense of design.
